The training to become a certified human energy practitioner is not legally regulated in Austria and is not an alternative to a university degree or state-recognized training. No legal training is necessary to practice human energy work. It is generally possible to register a free trade without proof of specific professional training and further education.
According to the legal regulations, it is prohibited to use the title “Dipl.” in connection with one's own name, as is common in state-recognized training. Instead, the title should only indicate that the human energetic training has been successfully completed, including a diploma thesis and examination.
Completed school and vocational training. Minimum age 20 years. Life experience as well as work experience an advantage. Minimum 75% course attendance required for course completion.

It should be noted that energetic treatments can only be carried out on healthy individuals, taking into account the professional reservations of other professions, such as medical massage or healing massage.
According to § 2 of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act, the transfer of knowledge through teaching activities such as lectures, workshops, seminars and training is not subject to the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act, so no business license is required for this.
However, it is possible to apply for the free business “assistance in achieving physical or energetic balance by means of...”. The decision on this is subject to individual examination by the relevant chamber of commerce. In principle, it is possible to register a free trade without proof of specific professional training and further education. Legal bases as well as information on the professional and activity reservations in the area of health professions can be found on the national list of free trades.
